Martha is Dead is a gripping psychological thriller written in first third person. The novel is filled with the dark, gloomy and dreamy tones as well as it is a mix of religion along with psychological turmoil and historical background.
A tragic death that is unexpected as well as the ferocity of war can sever the fragile equilibrium of the main character , leaving the mark of adversity in her life.
The story is set in Italy, Tuscany countryside (south of the Gothic line) in 1944 during the withdrawal of German army as well as Ally advancement.
